Nakhiya (Mohamed Mebarki) | France DJ Trance | Vocal | Uplifting | Progressive & Producer

Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of?

The "trip to sunrise land " mixes series on MixCloud because it's only classic trance tracks and sometimes Eurodance (my favorite memories).

What's the biggest misconception about DJing?

I think it's to think it's only "famous names deserves success", I know so many "unknown" deejays with awesome talent.

How would you describe your style?

I want to make something different ,with my own style inspired by what I listened between 90s and 2007.

What type of music do you usually DJ?

progressive and uplifting from 120 bpm to 140 bpm.

Analog or digital and why?

I prefer digital but analog is better sometimes.

What do you like most about DJing?

like said to me a great friend (Freshbone Suresh) "when a dj is mixing ,he is writing a story".

How long have you been DJing?

I started in 1994 with Eurodance tracks and 1999 with trance music.

What's your typical work process?

a lot of improvisation depending on the new tracks each week because there is a huge diversity of keys and vibes for make a mix.

Tell us about your studio setup.

it's very modest, I use virtual dj on a windows 7 computer, sometimes using an old turntable, sometimes just with the mouse, when I want to do several things at the same time.

Can you share one DJ tip?

I think what is the most important is the synchronicity of the kicks in the transitions between two tracks because even a slight shift can become unpleasant to listen to.

What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

My inspiration is a Spanish trance shows played in the end of 90s et beginning of 2000 called "Tendance" by the famous dj and radio host "Ricky Garcia" .. Trance nation compilations of Ferry Corsten with ministry of sound . In search of the Sunrise series of Tiesto . These 3 DJs really inspired me.
