My Story

1. Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of?

When I started producing, I always wanted to create something centered on melody and emotion. I began by producing House, but later found that Trance offered a better way to express that melody.

2. What's the biggest misconception about Producing?

It wouldn't be a mistake, but rather the difficulty faced by independent producers. Support and recognition are the hardest parts.

3. How would you describe your production style?

I try to effectively express the melody through the chords, doing it my own way and according to my vision of how Trance should be produced, not necessarily reinventing the wheel, but focusing on the feel of the chords and their possibilities.

4. What type of music styles do you usually Produce?

I enjoy Trance and its subgenres, particularly Vocal and Uplifting Trance.

I’ve also been involved in some Melodic Techno projects, which allow me to explore different melodies.

5. Analog or digital and why?

I’m a fan of both. I started my DJ career using analog gear, specifically the legendary Technics SL-1200 MK2s. But I don't limit myself; I enjoy being involved in both worlds.

Due to investment considerations, I’ve been working entirely in the digital realm for production. However, my goal is to incorporate analog gear for mixing and mastering, with plans to acquire compressors and limiters in the future.

6. What do you like most about Trance music?

The melody and expression of each chord in every song.

7. How long have you been making music?

I have been working on music production for twenty-two years. I started in 2004, producing House music and its underground subgenres.

I took a break to study and hone my skills, then made a real comeback in 2016 by producing remixes of Trance classics. That was when friends suggested I create original material, and I have been trying to gain a foothold by releasing my tracks on various labels within the genre.

8. What's your typical work process?

I usually create a chord and then explore the possibilities of the chosen key.

Once the chord is set, I have to write lyrics that fit the melody. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with a melody in my head and try to save it so I can explore chord variations later.

9. Tell us about your studio setup.

My studio setup is quite simple. I have Yamaha HS5 monitors, an Arturia Minifuse 2 audio interface, a MacBook Pro M4 running Ableton Live 12, and Launchkey MK4 MIDI controllers, 37-key and 25-key versions.

As for plugins, I use Serum (versions 1 and 2), Spire, and Sylenth1.

For my DJ setup, I use a pair of Pioneer PLX-1000 turntables, a DJM-900NXS mixer, and Sennheiser HD 25 headphones.

10. Can you share one production tip?

Sure. Try creating the music in your own way, while, of course, respecting all the fundamental principles of music production.

Don't just make things up for the sake of it, but create chords and melodies the way you feel they should be.

11. What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

I really like Ottaviani's production style; the way he crafts chords and creates endless melodic possibilities is incredible.

I've also been listening to Craig Connelly's work; he's been doing sensational work.

And, of course, I couldn't fail to mention the pillars of Trance: Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Tiësto, and Paul van Dyk. Their production styles serve as a source of inspiration for any producer, whether in Trance or any other genre.

12. What are some upcoming events or projects you are excited about?

I have projects focused on Melodic Techno and Progressive Trance, stepping out of my comfort zone to produce something different. I have two tracks nearing completion that blend melodies with a more aggressive sound, akin to Tech Trance.

Another project I’d like to pursue is releasing an acoustic album featuring my productions to elevate the inspirational quality of my melody-writing. I believe that one day I’ll have the opportunity to do so.

I host a radio show called "Play Sessions", a podcast where every two weeks, I showcase my new tracks and remixes, as well as the hits setting major Trance festivals around the world on fire.
